Barbara's Background |

Barbara holds a Ph.D in anthropology from
the University of Virginia. She has taught
at East Carolina University and Carteret
Community College. Today she is a
researcher.

In her spare time Barbara is a writer and
musician. She co-founded the Gloucester
Mardi Gras, an annual community festival.

Her husband Bryan Blake is a boat builder.
He is long-time chief of the Marshallberg
Volunteer Fire Department.

Bryan and
Barbara have three children and two
grandchildren. Their youngest son attends UNC-Greensboro.

Barbara is 47. She is a registered Democrat. She and Bryan live in Gloucester.
